CoreFlow Ltd., a leading solutions provider of advanced, aeromechanical-based handling and conveying systems recently installed a large air-floating stage at the Institute of Space Systems (IRAS) at Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany.
The air-floating stage enables the operation of experimental satellites in a simulated weightless environment. Unlike existing air-floating stages, in which the satellite requires a supply of compressed gas to create its own air cushions, CoreFlow's air-floating stage at provides the cushion, freeing the experimenters to focus on the testing of spacecraft attitude and orbit control.
CoreFlow’s air-floating stage provides a 4 x 7-meter platform that supports a 30-kilogram satellite mockup at a minimum floating height of 50 microns above the platform surface.
"CoreFlow’s air-floating stage enables us to perform experiments involving rotational and translational degrees of freedom," said Prof. Enrico Stoll, Head of IRAS, "Orbital debris is a growing concern in spaceflight. Thanks to the CoreFlow system, we are coming closer to our goal of developing new technologies for active debris removal."
CoreFlow invites research institutions to inquire about our unique air-floating experimental platform. For further information, contact: Yaron Baron - このメールアドレスはスパムボットから保護されています。閲覧するにはJavaScriptを有効にする必要があります。
